Righteousness
Are Christians automatically made righteous when they have given their life to the Lord? The Bible teaches that we need cleansing of all unrighteousness.
1 John 1: 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
The Bible also teaches that we as believers in Christ are made righteous by the blood of the Lord, and His blood shed on the cross alone has the power to cleanse us of all unrighteousness but we must learn what the scriptures teach about the righteousness of God and how we can be made righteous according to the word of God. It is by our testimony or the righteous life we live in Christ that we can all overcome sin.
Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
