In my previous blog, I shared that the seals in Chapter Six are types of events from the previous six millennia. The first seal was about Enoch, the second was about Noah, although my friend did not come to that same conclusion. The third was about Abraham, the fourth about leaders in the warring empires, the fifth was about the saints of the early church, and the sixth was about our time.
And there are a multitude of interpretations about the Book of Revelation, of which many are very good. However, in this report, my interpretation focuses upon the four storylines and the application of the types of the six millennia to each of the three storylines.
So please consider the following type and shadow to see how this linguistic device applies to the Book of Revelation.
Here is an example of a shadow of a type.
- The type: In Genesis Chapter Fifteen, Abram had a dream wherein his children were prisoners in a foreign land for four hundred years (Gen. 15:12-14).
- The shadow of the type: Some years later, Abram’s grandson Jacob and family, totaling seventy individuals (Gen. 46:27), moved to Egypt. This group of seventy grew into a large population having more than six hundred thousand men over the age of twenty-one (Num. 1:26). Meaning, that their total number was over one million men, women, and children when they left Egypt on the exodus. They had been prisoners in Egypt for four hundred thirty years (Ex. 12:40).
- As you can see, Abram’s dream was the type, and the literal occurrence of the children of Israel as prisoners in Egypt for four hundred thirty years was the shadow of the type.
- And now comes a type resulting from the above shadow: In addition to the above type and shadow is a secondary type as follows: After the children of Israel were freed from Egypt, as noted in the above shadow, they were born again via passing through the birth canal of the Red Sea. Thus, they were a nation born in a day.
- The second shadow of the above (first) type: William Bradford, with a group of individuals on the Mayflower in 1620, with 102 passengers, settled in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Four hundred years have passed, now being 2026, and we, as their children, are at the precipitous end of being freed with the return of Jesus Christ.
- The shadow of the above (secondary) type: The consequence of our freedom is to live with Jesus Christ during his thousand-year reign upon the earth (Rev. 20:4). This comes as a result of passing through the birthing experience (Rev. 12:2) as a shadow of the saints during Moses’ time, passing through their birthing experience. Thus, a nation will be born in a day (Isa. 66:8).
The above example of Abram’s dream as a type, followed by two shadows, and a secondary type and shadow, is similar to the types and shadows in The Book of Revelation.
The seals of Chapter Six are the type, and the three remaining storylines contain the shadows of the type.
The information above is one of the foundational avenues that I use for my interpretation of the Book of Revelation. And I do have other avenues of discovery. But this method provides great interpretative value.
In fact, my friends, with whom I share much of my work, at times complain that they can not understand what I am saying. And I have sent them more than a hundred messages to explain the prophecy.
