2) Babylon Burns

Babylon fell, now she burns, in this six-part series titled The Fall of Babylon, A very difficult subject, Rev. 6:3-4, Rev. 8:8-9, Rev. 12:3-4 (Rev. 13:2-5), Rev. 18:3

vv. 6:3-4, And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. 4And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

  1. The individual opening the seals throughout Chapter Six is the Savior.
  2. Also, keep in mind that John uses several aliases for himself, as well as the Savior, and the angel of Rev. 1:1. Thus, all the beasts in Chapter Six are the angels of Rev. 1:1.
  3. And “another horse that was red” links to the red dragon of Rev. 12:3.
    1. And I should mention the three levels of interpretation that I use. The highest level is the power transfers that I found a year or two ago. The mid-level is commonly used as a millennial type, and the third level is the tribulation, which is a utilitarian standard and the workhorse in the Book of Revelation.
    2. The key is to use all three interpretative levels and then see the correct answer. So when I read Rev. 6:4,
      1.  I know that the “power” at the power level of interpretation refers to the transfer of power from the Savior to the angel of Rev. 1:1.
      2. And I know that the “power” at the millennial level of interpretation refers to the appointment of Noah to take the Ark upon the waters of salvation in the great flood as a type.
      3. And I know that the “power” at the tribulation level of interpretation refers to Lucifer giving power to the beast as shown in Rev. 13:2.
      4. Thus, reading at the tribulation level of interpretation is where the red horse of Rev. 6:4 represents the dragon of Rev. 12:3. And this is the correct answer.
  4. Thus, Babylon has previously fallen, and now the armies and populations of the world kill each other in a mad dash for food and energy resources. And they do not turn to our Savior, Jesus Christ, but their savior, Lucifer (Rev. 12:3, Rev. 13:2).
  5. So Verse 6:4 reads, And there was given to Lucifer a great sword, which is the beast and his false prophet of Rev. 13:1 and Rev. 13:1. These are very bad guys. Adolph Hitler types. And they are going to be sent to hell for their wickedness (Rev. 19:20, Rev. 20:10).

vv. 8:8-9, And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; 9And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

  1. Again, the angel is John. The great mountain is the great nation burning that is represented in Rev. 17:10 as the sixth Babylonian economic system. And with violence (Rev. 18:21), she is cast into the trash heap of history (Rev. 8:8).
  2. Reflecting upon Rev. 8:7, as Babylon fell, one-third of the population of the world died a spiritual death when they chose to follow the beast and false prophet. And now in Rev. 8:8, as Babylon burns, one-third of the population of the world has died a physical death. Thus, the word “blood” is used in both of these verses to reference the populations of the world,  dying both spiritually and then physically.
  3. From the verses above, and especially Rev. 8:9, the world as we know it has been destroyed as Babylon burns. Nevertheless, we with our tears of sorrow (Rev. 18:9-11, Rev. 16-19) should look forward to the Savior’s return. Remember Lot’s wife who turned back to her beloved cities Sodom and Gomorrah (Isa. 1:10-21), and lost her life (Gen. 19:26). Thus, we should look forward to the Savior reigning in his glory upon the earth. Look to him as the brass serpent on the pole who protects us from the evil serpents who bite us. (Num. 21:8-9).

vv. 12:3-4,  And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

  1. Contrasting Rev. 12:1-2 to Rev. 12:3-4, the wonder upon the earth is the church of God, and another wonder upon the earth is the church of Lucifer.
  2. The various parts of these two churches are contrasted as follows:
    1. Leaders and Followers. The church of God has the sun and the moon, whereas the church of Lucifer has seven heads and ten horns.
    2. The Governing Body. The church of God has a crown of twelve stars representing the twelve tribes of Israel (Rev. 7:4-8). These are above the sun, as represented in the great sign of 23 September 2017. Whereas, the church of Lucifer has seven crowns upon the dragon’s seven government heads.
  3. In the end, Lucifer’s illegal government (Rev. 12:3) drew a third of the saints from the Savior’s church (Rev. 12:1-2) and cast them to the earth (Rev. 12:4), where they lost their mortal lives as Babylon burned.

vv. 13:2-5, And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

  1. And three governments turned on each other. Germany, the leopard, Russia, the bear, and Great Britain, the lion. And one of these governments survived and was healed. And the world wondered after the beast for their survival. Having confidence that this beast was their savior. After all, the dragon gave him his power as god, his seat as the savior, and his great authority as the holy ghost (Rev. 13:2). Remember, I am reading Verse 13:2 as a shadow in the tribulation level of interpretation, and not as a type in the millennial level of interpretation. But just for fun, can you see the millennial type? G B ruled the seas of the world, G ruled the European continent, and now R is at the beginning of their rule over the world. All three make their mark in the sixth millennium.
  2. And there was a mouth speaking for the beast, and this is the false prophet of Rev. 13:11. And he was to continue 3.5 years, causing tribulation upon the earth.

v. 18:3, For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

  1. And Babylon has fallen (Rev. 18:2), and is now burning, because all nations, including the saints of God, have committed fornication with her, worshiping the Babylonian economic system. God is a jealous God and destroys this wicked whore (Rev. 17:1, Rev. 17:15, Rev. 17:6, Rev. 18:20, Rev. 19:1-3).
  2. Nevertheless, it is impossible to avoid fornicating with her in this world of sin (Rev. 17:2, Rev. 18:3).
  3. But we should not worship the things made with our hands as the wicked of the world do (Rev. 9:20).
  4. We are not to worship the power of Lucifer’s devils (Rev. 13:3-5, Rev. 17:8), nor the money that drives the economy, Babylon (Isa. 2:6-8).
  5. We are redeemed via the love and commitment of our God, Jesus Christ, from all of our fornication with her (Rev. 1:5-8). Stay free living in the laws and commandments of Jesus Christ. Do not worship Babylon’s idols.

May God keep you safe in this time of trial. Do not take the mark of the beast to save your mortal lives (Rev. 14:9-11). Remain faithful to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
