More Than Conquerors

More Than Conquerors: Awakening the Greatness Within You

By Pastor Joel – Open Heaven Christian Church – Fisher, Arkansas

There are moments in life when you feel a stirring deep within your soul—an explainable pull toward something greater. A vision. A dream. A calling that refuses to be silenced. It is not random. It is not imagination alone. It is divine and inspired by God to activate His greatness within YOU!

The Word of God declares in Romans 8:37 (KJV):
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

Not just survivors. Not merely over-comers. More than conquerors. This means you were designed not only to endure life—but to rise above it, to walk in victory, and to fulfill a purpose that heaven itself authored just for you, yes YOU because you were created for this purpose before you were born.

Psalm 139:13-16

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

God literally wrote an entire book about YOU, and in this book the Lord starts with your unique identity that no one else on earth has. You were fashioned and formed exactly how God wanted you to be in every way even before you physically born… and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

The Pattern of Conquerors in Scripture

Throughout both the Old and New Testaments, God reveals a consistent truth: ordinary people, when yielded to Him, accomplish extraordinary things.

Consider David, a shepherd boy overlooked by his own family. Yet when the moment came, he stood before Goliath not in fear, but in faith. What others saw as impossible, David saw as an opportunity for God to demonstrate His power. What Goliath might you be facing? Don’t worry because you are more then a Conqueror.

Reflect on Moses, who once doubted his own ability to speak, yet stood before Pharaoh and led an entire nation out of bondage and slavery. His weakness became the very place where God’s strength was revealed. Do you see yourself as having weaknesses or even some kind of disability that is holding you back from accomplishing the dreams you have? Don’t worry, God has got this under his control, it was written in your book long ago and you are more then a Conqueror. The only thing stopping you are your own thoughts, not God’s plans.

Think about Joshua, who marched around the walls of Jericho in obedience when the strategy made no natural sense—and watched those walls collapse by the divine power of God. Are you trusting in your own power? God is way more powerful then any of us.

In the New Testament, we see Peter, once fearful and inconsistent, transformed into a bold preacher whose words pierced hearts and changed thousands of lives. Let’s not forget that Peter denied the Lord three times before he understood the greatness written in his heavenly book that had everything already planned out for his life. Oh, and please don’t you forget that God has “Divine Plans” already written for your life!

And Paul, once a persecutor, became one of the greatest apostles—enduring hardship, imprisonment, and suffering, yet advancing the Gospel with unstoppable conviction. Paul was walking around as a persecutor and Jesus hater until the things that were written in his divine heavenly book began to make sense to him, look what Paul said about himself in Galatians 1:15 “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,

It wasn’t until Paul’s conversion and renewal of his mind by the Holy Spirit that the Apostle Paul understood his true identity of what was written in the heavenly book that God wrote about him before he was born in the flesh. Yep, Paul eventually got it!

These were not super-human individuals. They were people who responded to the call of God within them once they understood that God had a purpose and a plan for them before they became “human”.

The Voice Within: More Than Just Thoughts

There are dreams you carry. Ideas that come to you in quiet moments. A deep sense that you are meant for something more—something meaningful, something that will impact both your life and the world with whatever the Lord created you to be and do!

These are not empty thoughts.

The Scripture says in Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV):
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

God is not silent about your life. He is actively speaking—planting vision, purpose, and direction within your spirit. Are you listening to the still gentle voice that has been speaking to you since you were a child? That is God speaking to you.

Those inner promptings—the desire to build, to serve, to lead, to create, to encourage—are often the Holy Spirit revealing the blueprint of your calling.

What you feel inside is not accidental. It is intentional. Listen to that voice or you may be taken down the wrong path that God never intended for you, or you may be delaying the path that God put in front of you. One leads to Eternal life, the other leads to a destructive life that God never intended for you.

Matthew 7:13-14
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Equipped for the Calling

One of the greatest lies people believe is that they are not ready, not qualified, or not capable. But God never calls without equipping.

Hebrews 13:20-21 (KJV) declares:
“Now the God of peace… Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ…”

Notice this:
God doesn’t just give you a task—He works within you to accomplish it.

  • The strength you need will come.

  • The wisdom you lack will be supplied.

  • The courage you think you don’t have will rise at the moment you need it.

You are not trying to become someone else.
You are being empowered to become who God already created you to be.

The Courage to Act

Every conqueror in Scripture had a defining moment:
A point where they had to step beyond fear and trust God fully.

  • David had to step onto the battlefield.

  • Moses had to return to Egypt.

  • Joshua had to lead the people forward.

  • Peter had to step out of the boat.

The same is true for you.

The dreams within you require movement.
Faith is not passive—it responds.

When you begin to act on what God has placed inside you, something supernatural happens:
He meets you in your obedience.

Conclusion: Rise Into What You Were Created to Be

You are not here by accident.
You are not without purpose.
You are not lacking what it takes.

There is greatness within you—not the kind the world defines, but the kind that transforms lives, brings light into darkness, and reflects the glory of God.

Those dreams in your heart? They are seeds of destiny.
Those deep thoughts? They are whispers of divine intention.
That pull toward something greater? It is the call of God on your life.

So rise.

Rise above doubt.
Rise above fear.
Rise above every voice that tells you “you can’t.”

You are more than conquerors—not because of who you are alone, but because of who lives within you.

Walk boldly in your calling.
Step confidently into your purpose.
Trust completely in the One who designed your path.

And as you do, you will not only discover your potential—
you will fulfill it.

Because the God who called you is faithful…
and He will complete the work He began in you.

In order for you to fully understand your full potential, you have to keep your eyes upon the one who wrote the plans for your life so you can experience perfect peace, perfect grace, perfect love, and a perfect life in Christ Jesus who created you!

Hebrews 12:2
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Start being more then the Conqueror that Jesus created you to be! Quit wasting your life on destructive paths and behaviors that God never intended for your life. Start living your life to the fullest in God right now because that is why Jesus said I have come to give you life!

John 10:10 “… I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
