Did God abandon your life? NO, God did not abandon you.
By Pastor Joel – Open Heaven Christian Church – Fisher, Arkansas
Is the following statement true?
“Did God cancel your plans to save your life and send you in another direction so you could avoid danger? Yes, God fights battles for you that you know nothing about because His plans are way better than yours.”
Yes, this statement is true, but it needs to be understood correctly.
First of all, God did not cancel any of His plans to save you. Instead, He fulfilled and maximized His plan of salvation when God sent His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for you, so that you could experience the abundant life God wants you to have in this present life.
It may appear as if God canceled His plans to save your life, but in reality, what happened is that the devil attacked your life, and things appeared to you as if God did not want to save and bless you.
John 10:10:
“The thief does not come except so that he might steal and might kill and might destroy. I came so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.”
Secondly, God did not send you in another direction. No, God allowed you to chose the path you want to follow in life. The difference is that while you were choosing the wrong path, God who was invisibly present in all of your decisions was protecting you even through the wrong choices we all make in life.
Proverbs 16:25:
“There is a way right before the face of a man, and its end is the way of death.”
God foresaw all of our lives and allowed even what seemed bad to happen to steer us in the right direction.
Romans 8:28-30
“28 And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; those He justified, He also glorified.”
We all choose which way we want our lives to go as we follow the Lord and His leading and trust the Lord…
Joshua 24:15:
“But if it is unpleasing in your sight to serve the LORD, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD!”
Thirdly, God is always fighting your battles and assisting you in getting onto the right path in life! We simply need to be still and follow His lead while we are in the midst of the battle.
Exodus 14:14:
“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still and trust God’s leading.”
Lastly, God does these three things because His plan for your life is far better than anything you could ever imagine!
Jeremiah 29:10–14:
“10 I will attend to you and confirm My promise to restore you to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and places to which I have banished you, declares the LORD. I will restore you to the place from which I sent you into exile.”
Conclusion:
Whatever happens in life we must always remember that God has a set of future plans with intentions to bless all of our lives with His goodness and mercy! We must never base our lives on whatever is or has happened to any of us because God is leading all of us into an abundant life that Jesus came to give even if it doesn’t seem to appear as if God is blessing us at whatever moment or circumstance in life we all may face. The key thing we must realize is God is ultimately steering us all in the right direction, all we need to do is be still enough and trust that God has a much better plan for all of our lives as we trust and wait upon the Lord in our everyday life!
Proverbs 3
“1 My son, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments;
2 for they will add length to your days,
3 Never let loving devotion or faithfulness leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will find favor and high regard
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your paths straight.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
8 This will bring healing to your body
and refreshment to your bones.”
PRAYER:
Father God, I come before you this day and ask you to help me be at peace with everything I am struggling with in my life. Help me to trust in the plans you have for my life as I wait upon you and your leading. Today I choose to not only follow your lead, but I also cast all my cares upon you and leave them at the feet of Jesus as I trust in your will for my life. I choose the life plans that you have prepared for my life knowing that your will for me is to bless and abundantly prosper my life in your perfect time! In Jesus name I pray, – Amen!
