Cast your anxieties unto Him

Philippians 4:6-7 NLTΒ

[6] Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. [7] Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

In this passage, Paul is speaking about anxiety and stress, giving guidelines to Christians on how to deal with the burden of worry. In verse 6, he starts off with an important commandment, to replace worrying with praying. Therefore, we shall cast our anxieties unto God (1 Peter 5:7) and not have to deal with them anymore ourselves. Because we, as humans, cannot handle the weight of anxiety, therefore we must trust God completely.Β

The result of giving God every one of our doubts and concerns is truly amazing. We get to experience God’s peace, even in moments which everythings seems to be going downhill, in the opposite direction. His unexplainable peace will keep us safe and relieved from any negative and unwanted thoughts about the future, our lives etc. We should not try to fight one of Satan’s greatest weapons by ourselves, but we should let God fight for us. When we surrender to God, the enemy surrenders defeat to our Lord as a result.Β

Next time you catch yourself thinking about the future and being uncertain of specific outcomes in any area of your life, remember that no matter what, even if we live or die, we will always belong to our Heavenly Father, and that’s what truly matters at the end of the day. Everything else is temporary. So seek God and keep praying constantly, fixing your eyes unto Him whenever things get tough. Surrender everything to Him and let Him do what you are unable to. Let go of anything that makes you rely on yourself, and depend solely on Him. If it’s meant for you, it will happen.Β

Heavenly Father,Β

We come before You to surrender ALL our worries, fears, and doubts. Please help us let go of the heavy burden which we can not handle, so that we feel Your peace and we are not troubled by negative thoughts. Set us free from the chains of sin, let us rejoice in Your presence.Β

In Jesus’ name,Β

Amen.Β
