Faith in His Faith

Faith in His Faith
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2)

Opening Truth
This is not a message about you holding on to God — it’s about God holding on to you. It’s not about your ability to perform, endure, or overcome — it’s about the One who has already overcome.

We live in a world obsessed with merit, performance, and proving worth. But the Kingdom of God is not built on human merit. It is built on Christ — His faith, His obedience, His Spirit.

1. Christ as the Center and Foundation
“For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 3:11).

Faith is not a self-generated force. It is a gift (Ephesians 2:8–9).

Even our believing is upheld by His believing — “the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Galatians 2:20, KJV).

2. Choices Have Weight — But Not the Throne
Yes, choices have consequences. Yes, obedience matters. But they are not the hinges on which salvation swings.

Our decisions can shape our experience, our witness, our joy — but they cannot dethrone Christ or derail His plan.

“The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations” (Psalm 33:11).

3. Not About Deeds, Merits, or Performance
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us” (Titus 3:5).

The Gospel is not God grading your report card — it’s God giving you Christ’s perfect record.

Performance-based religion breeds pride in the strong and despair in the weak. Grace humbles both and lifts both.

4. Overcoming Evil With Good — And the Only Good is God
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21).

But Jesus Himself said, “No one is good except God alone” (Mark 10:18).

Therefore, overcoming is not about mustering inner strength — it’s about yielding to His Spirit, letting His goodness flow through us.

5. Faith in His Faith
Our faith is not the anchor — Christ is the anchor (Hebrews 6:19).

We are not saved because we never waver, but because He never wavers.

“If we are faithless, He remains faithful — for He cannot deny Himself” (2 Timothy 2:13).

Closing Call
Stop measuring yourself by your performance. Stop thinking your failures have the power to undo His finished work. The rail is laid. The Kingdom is ordered. The King is blameless and unshakable. Your hope is not in your grip on Him, but in His grip on you.

So fix your eyes on Jesus — not on your record, not on your strength, not on your overcoming — but on the One who has already overcome, and who will carry you to the end.
