Not Mine to Wield

Not Mine to Wield

– I used to think He gave me power

– like a tool in hand

– like a sword to swing

– like a gift to steward well

– But He’s been showing me

– it’s not mine to wield

– not shared credit

– not borrowed glory

– not a partnership of equals

– It’s Him – all Him – in me, yes but not from me

– not sourced in effort

– not sustained by discipline

– not activated by belief

– Just Him – moving – being – doing

– And me? – I’m the witness

– the body present

– the child learning to trust

– not in my ability to imitate

– but in His ability to be

– He’s not teaching me how to do

– He’s teaching me how to depend

– not how to stand strong

– but how to be still

– not how to rise

– but how to rest

– Because anything that moves me – away from full dependence

– is a counterfeit

– a shadow

– a whisper of self

– trying to dress up as faith

– But faith is not performance

– faith is presence

– faith is surrender

– And the power?

– It’s not lent – not delegated – not mine to wield

– It’s Him – always Him – forever Him
