Song of Solomon, Chapter 2

Song of Solomon, Chapter 2

Son of Solomon is so fun to read. Thank you, Brother Shad, for bringing this to my attention.

The Savior speaks about the DK:

1I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. (I Jesus am the rose of the servants, and the lily of the saints.)

2As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters. (As the Savior among the wicked, so is my DK among the saints of God.)

3As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. (The Savior repeats, as the apple tree among the trees of the forest. So is my DK among the sons of God.)

4He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. (The DK honors and loves Jesus.)

5Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love. (The Savior loves the DK and calls him “flagons”. Comfort me with the saints of the harvest.)

6His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me. (The DK loves the Savior.)

The Savior instructs the saints:

7I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please. (Jesus instructs the saints and servants to keep quiet until the DK is ready.)

8The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. (The DK is ready and comes upon the strong and small nations. This is the fall of Babylon proper.)

9My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice. (Jesus states that his DK is youthful and full of energy. He stands for the doctrines of Christ, showing himself to the saints in glimpses.)

The DK speaks.

10My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. (The Savior’s DK speaks to his servants and saints, come away.)

11For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; (For the days of trouble are gone.)

12The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; (It is the time of renewal)

13The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away. (DK calls to the saints: Israel has put on her new growth. Arise, my saints and servants, and come away with me.)

14O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. (O my saints hiding, come forth, it is safe now.)

15Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. (Bring the clever saints who have survived.)

Jesus speaks:

16My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies. (Jesus states that the DK is his and receives instruction from God.)

17Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether. (Until the tribulation is over and the wicked are gone, hide like the DK upon the nations of the earth.)

This is a powerful chapter about the coming tribulation.
