The Harvest of Grace

Eternal Life: The Harvest of Grace

John 1:14–18

14 The Word became a human and lived among us. We saw his glory—the glory that belongs to the only Son of the Father—and he was full of grace and truth. 15 John tells the truth about him and cries out, saying, “This is the One I told you about: ‘The One who comes after me is greater than I am, because he was living before me.’” 16 Because he was full of grace and truth, from him we all received one gift after another. 17 The law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God. But God the only Son is very close to the Father, and he has shown us what God is like.

1 Corinthians 3:5–9

5 Is Apollos important? No! Is Paul important? No! We are only servants of God who helped you believe. Each one of us did the work God gave us to do. 6 I planted the seed, and Apollos watered it. But God is the One who made it grow. 7 So the one who plants is not important, and the one who waters is not important. Only God, who makes things grow, is important. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have the same purpose, and each will be rewarded for his own work. 9 We are God’s workers, working together; you are like God’s farm, God’s house.

Eternal life is the fruit of God’s sowing — not our achievement. Grace is Jesus Himself, tending the soil of our hearts, planting His word, watering with His Spirit, and bringing forth a harvest we could never produce on our own. We reap what God sows: forgiveness, righteousness, and life everlasting.

Assurance: Secure in His Hands

John 10:28–30

28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.

1 John 5:11–13

11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 1:22

He put his mark on us to show that we are his, and he put his Spirit in our hearts to be a guarantee for all he has promised.

Our salvation rests not on our grip on God, but on His grip on us. The Spirit within us is God’s guarantee that His promises are unshakable.

Transformation: Abiding in the Vine

John 15:5

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

Psalm 139:23–24

23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

1 Peter 5:10

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

While salvation is secure, growth comes from abiding in Christ. Trials refine us, and God Himself restores and strengthens us. Grace doesn’t just save — it transforms.

Hope: Fixing Our Eyes on the Eternal

2 Corinthians 4:17–18

17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Revelation 21:3–4

3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

2 Corinthians 5:1

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

Our present troubles are light and momentary compared to the eternal glory ahead. Whether through death, transformation, or His direct deliverance, our future is secure in His presence.

The Heart of the Gospel

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Eternal life is God’s gift, given freely through His Son. It is rooted in His love, secured by Christ’s finished work, and guaranteed by the Spirit. Our part is simply to say “Yes and Amen” — to receive, rest, and rejoice in the harvest of grace.
