- Have you ever stopped to think about who is walking around inside your skin? We often treat our bodies like temporary vehicles—something to push to exhaustion, feed with junk, or fill with things that leave us empty.
In the Old Testament, the temple in Jerusalem was a grand, awe-inspiring place. It was set apart, cleaned, and revered because the manifest presence of God lived inside the Most Holy Place. Only select people could enter, and they did so with deep reverence.
Today, through Jesus Christ, God has shifted the address. His presence no longer lives in a building made of stone and mortar; He lives inside of you.
What the Bible Says
The scriptures remind us of our sacred standing and the call to honor God physically:
• 1 Corinthians 6:19–20: Reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, bought with a price, urging us to honor God with our bodies.
• 1 Corinthians 3:16 & Romans 12:1: Reinforce that we are God’s dwelling place and called to offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable.

Knowing God Changes How You See Yourself
Knowing God is an intimate awakening that transforms self-worth. Understanding that you are redeemed by Jesus means you carry His presence everywhere, bringing the atmosphere of heaven into your daily life.
Practical Ways to Honor Your Temple Today
Treating your body as a living temple is an act of love and stewardship rather than legalism:
• Guard the gates & nourish the vessel: Be mindful of what enters your mind and treat your physical health as worship.
• Flee from defilement & surrender daily: Turn away from destructive habits and invite the Holy Spirit to guide your daily steps.
You are a sacred house. Let the King feel at home.
