Just for fun! If you make it to all 12 levels in the game, you’ve entered the pearly gates 🙂 See Game Instructions Below…
How to Play Heaven's Gates Pinball
Step through the pearly gates and see how high you can climb. Up to four players share one machine and take turns. Every player gets three balls, and the highest score wins. The best scores from everyone who plays are kept on the Top 10 board.
Starting a game
- Choose how many players will take part (1 to 4) and type each person's name. Names are shown at the top of the machine with each player's score.
- Pick a starting level. New players should start at Level 1.
- Press Start game. Player 1 goes first, then the turn passes to the next player after every ball.
Controls
| Action | Keyboard | Phone or tablet |
|---|---|---|
| Left flipper | Left Arrow, Z, A or Left Shift | Touch the left half of the machine, or hold the Left button |
| Right flipper | Right Arrow, M, L, / or Right Shift | Touch the right half of the machine, or hold the Right button |
| Launch the ball | Hold Space or Down Arrow, then let go | Hold the Launch button (or the lower right corner of the machine), then let go |
The longer you hold Launch, the harder the plunger pulls back and the faster the ball shoots up the right-hand lane. If the ball falls back into the lane, simply launch it again. Use the speaker button to turn sound on or off.
Scoring
| What you hit | Points |
|---|---|
| Halo bumpers (the three glowing rings) | 100 |
| Slingshots (the cream triangles above the flippers) | 25 |
| Pearl posts | 10 |
| Cherub guards (appear from Level 5) | 50 |
| Angel plaques on the side walls | 250 each; light all four for the Angels' Blessing bonus of 2,000 |
| G-A-T-E-S lamps along the top arch | 50 each; light all five for 3,000, the gates swing open, and your score multiplier goes up by one (up to ×5 on that ball) |
| Gate saucer at the foot of the gates | 1,000 |
The G-A-T-E-S lamps only count once the ball has dropped into play, so you need to shoot the ball back up the arch with a flipper to light them. Every score is also multiplied by your level bonus (see below).
The twelve levels
Each player climbs one level for every 4,000 points they score. As the levels rise, the ball falls faster, the flippers get shorter, the bumpers kick harder, and cherub guards float into the playfield. Points are worth more too: Level 12 pays 2.65 times the base score.
| Level | Name | Level | Name |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Garden Path | 7 | Trumpet Call |
| 2 | Cloud Steps | 8 | Seraph Skies |
| 3 | Silver Mist | 9 | Archangel Trial (second cherub guard) |
| 4 | Pearly Approach | 10 | Throne Room |
| 5 | Cherub Watch (first cherub guard) | 11 | Radiant Heights |
| 6 | Golden Gate | 12 | Heaven's Gates |
The Top 10 board
When the last ball is played, every player's score is saved automatically under the name they typed. The board keeps each name's best score and shows only the ten highest, so use the same name each time to build your record. Share the page and see who can reach the top.
Tips
- Tap a flipper just as the ball reaches it. Holding it up all the time makes the ball roll off.
- Use the bumpers to keep the ball bouncing near the top of the machine, away from the drain.
- Aim for the arch to light G-A-T-E-S and raise your multiplier.
- Playing on a phone? Turn it upright. The machine resizes itself to fit your screen.
What’s in Heavens Gate Pinball Game?
- The Look: pearly gates at the top of the table, with feathered angels standing on clouds on both sides. The gate doors swing open when you light the G-A-T-E-S lamps.
- The Ball: a chrome ball that rolls and reflects the sky.
- The Players: 1 to 4 players take turns on one machine, three balls each. Each player’s name and points sit at the top, and the active player glows.
- The Levels: 12 levels, from Garden Path to Heaven’s Gates. Each player climbs a level every 4,000 points, or you can pick a starting level. Higher levels make the ball faster, the flippers shorter and the bumpers harder, and cherub guards drift into play at levels 5 and 9. Points are worth more at higher levels.
- The Top 10: scores are saved on your site when a game ends, and the board shows below the machine. It keeps each name’s best score.
- The Screen fit: the machine resizes to the screen’s height and width, so no scrolling. It works on phones, tablets and desktops, with keyboard, touch and sound controls.
