Revelation 16:13–14 (KJV)
“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.”
Introduction: Miracles That Deceive
Many people associate miracles with God alone—but Scripture warns us that Satan also performs miracles. The Bible reveals in multiple places that the enemy uses signs and wonders, not to heal or save, but to deceive, blind, and lead people away from the truth.
In Revelation 16, John saw unclean spirits like frogs—symbolizing demonic forces—coming from the dragon (Satan), the beast (the Antichrist), and the false prophet (a false religious system). These are described as “spirits of devils, working miracles.” Their purpose? To influence world leaders and gather them for war against God.
Satan’s Power to Blind Minds
The enemy’s deception goes beyond outward signs—it reaches deep into the mind.
2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV)
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
Here, Satan is called “the god of this world”, and we are told he blinds the minds of unbelievers. This is a spiritual miracle of deception—people don’t even realize they’ve been blinded. They may be religious, spiritual, or even appear morally upright, yet they cannot see the truth of the Gospel because the enemy has hidden it from their understanding.
This blinding is subtle and supernatural, not physical. Satan can cause someone to be fully convinced they are walking in truth, while leading them down the path of destruction.
Another Jesus, Another Spirit, Another Gospel
The Apostle Paul warned of spiritual deception in the strongest terms:
2 Corinthians 11:4 (KJV)
“For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”
Galatians 1:8 (KJV)
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”
This “another spirit” is not the Holy Spirit—it is a counterfeit. This “another Jesus” is not “Jesus Christ” of the Bible—it is a deception. Many false ministries and religious movements operate under this false spirit, even using miracles and signs to appear legitimate. But if the spirit behind them contradicts the Word of God or denies Christ’s Lordship, it is not from God.
Even Judas Was Deceived by Satan
One of the most chilling examples of Satan’s deceptive power is Judas Iscariot, a disciple of Jesus Christ.
Judas walked with Jesus, heard His teachings, saw His miracles, and yet was still deceived and blinded by Satan.
John 13:2 (KJV)
“And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him;”
Satan first put the thought into Judas’ heart.
Then later:
John 13:27 (KJV)
“And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly.”
This wasn’t just temptation—it was possession and deception at the highest level. Judas became a tool of Satan while still among the disciples. Jesus didn’t force him—he allowed it, showing us that even someone close to truth can fall if their heart is not right before the Lord.
False Miracles Confirmed in the Last Days
Jesus warned about this in Matthew 24:24 (KJV):
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
These signs are powerful, persuasive, and real—but they are from false prophets, not God. Their purpose is to deceive, just as Judas was deceived.
Likewise, Paul warns in:
2 Thessalonians 2:9 (KJV)
“Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,”
These lying wonders may appear divine, but are powered by Satan, not the Holy Spirit.
How to Discern the Source of a Miracle
Not all miracles glorify God. Here’s how to test the source:
-
Does it point to Jesus Christ as revealed in Scripture?
(Not a false Jesus, not prosperity, not self-glory)

-
Does it align with the Bible?
Isaiah 8:20 – “If they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”

-
Does the Holy Spirit confirm it in truth, not emotion?
-
Does it bear godly fruit?
Matthew 7:20 – “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”

God Allows the Test of Miracles
Miracles from the enemy are a test—to see if people will follow truth or just power.
Deuteronomy 13:1–3 (KJV)
“If there arise among you a prophet… and the sign or the wonder come to pass… saying, Let us go after other gods… thou shalt not hearken…”
God allows this to test the hearts of people. The miracle is not the test—the message behind it is and does it line up perfectly with the written word of God, — The Bible.
Conclusion: Miracles Are Not the Measure—Truth Is
Yes, Satan can work miracles, and he blinds minds with them. From Revelation to Paul’s epistles, to the tragic fall of Judas, Scripture repeatedly warns us that not all supernatural signs are from God.
Satan’s miracles are tools of deception. They appeal to the senses, emotions, and pride. But God’s truth—revealed in Scripture—cuts through the illusion. Knowing the truth of the written word of God is like compass that will always lead a person to truth, and “TRUTH” is what makes a person free!
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:32 (KJV)
Final Warning
Don’t trust every miracle. Trust the Word of God. If Satan can blind even a disciple like Judas, deceive entire nations, and perform signs in Jesus’ name—then surely, we must stay alert, discerning, and grounded in truth.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
