One sermon I attended last August left an impact on me, on what is truth?
I’ve met many people in my walk of life that have a different perspective on what is true, some has said reality is just your brain creating a hallucination, that nothing is really real or true which all boils down to Subjectivity. If all we have is Subjective reality then everything loses meaning, so the entire world is built on whose Subjective idea is more acceptable as compared to the other.
For us Christians there is no such thing as Subjective truth because Jesus is the way and the truth (John 14:6). Objective truth does exist, for the living word of God is the truth. It just is, what is says that is all, when we read God’s word we are learning more about Him and it is not about us. The truth is a hard pill to swallow which is why most people tend to fall into their own Subjective ideas and truth. This is dangerous for any Christian because that leaves room for confusion, indecisveness and a lack of purpose.
God’s word is very clear about what is right and what is wrong. As Christians we have to be very clear on our perspective and our reality, standing firm on our believes. For the word of God is like the lens which we can see the world. So what is the actual purpose of Life? For us to seek God and fulfill His purpose (Matthew 6:33)
Amen, truth is not an persons perpective but Jesus Christ!
